Develop The Tourism Sector, Sabang City Government Work On Pioneer Aviation Routes To Weh Island

SABANG - The Sabang City Government is trying to open a flight route to Indonesia's westernmost island through Maimun Saleh International Airport. This step is to support the development of the tourism sector. "Together with the organizers of the Maimun Saleh Airport and Air Base, the Sabang City Government continues to coordinate regarding steps to possible reopen pioneering flights in Sabang City," said Acting Mayor of Sabang, Reza Fahlevi in Sabang, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 27. This was conveyed by Reza while reviewing Maimun Saleh Sabang International Airport. The pioneering flight route is considered important as an effort to improve transportation accessibility which will support the tourism sector of Pulau Weh. He considered that in an effort to open the pioneering flight route, of course there would be many stages of coordination and follow-up that must be carried out, both at the central government level and at all related elements. "Hopefully we can find a solution for the challenges and obstacles that have occurred so far. Of course, we are very optimistic and continue to strive to realize this flight in Sabang City again," he hoped. Similarly, the Head of Maimun Saleh Airport, Yan Budianto, said that his party continues to coordinate with the central government, as well as will intensively provide the latest developments on the acceleration of the opening of pioneering flights to Sabang. Meanwhile, the Commander of the Maimun Saleh Air Base, Lt. Col. Fahrur Rozi, also welcomed the plan to reopen the flight route to Sabang City. "Because this will be very good for tourism developments as well as an added value for the Sabang community in terms of the economy," he said.
