KARAWANG - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said electric vehicles provided for the G20 Summit on 15-16 November 2022 in Bali could be sold after the event.

"Later, there will be vehicles that are used or sold, we will see what the needs will be, which ones should be used, and which ones might be sold to the private sector," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Karawang, West Java on Thursday.

This, according to the Vice President, is also in line with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7/2022 concerning Battery Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicles) as Operational Service Vehicles and/or Individual Vehicles for Central Government Agencies and Regional Governments.

"Vehicles that are not used or used by proper officials will be regulated later, there are several types that are used, some are luxurious, medium, there is a plan for their use," continued the Vice President.

According to the Vice President, the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 7 of 2022 will also be carried out in stages.

"In accordance with the Presidential Instruction that the implementation will be carried out in stages and priorities, the first priority is, of course, civil servants, the government then the regions, big cities, especially Jakarta and Bali, which began with the G20, trying to be used in several places using electric vehicles and there are places where there are electric vehicles. filling it," said the Vice President.

Inpres Number 7/2022 is addressed to all ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, cabinet secretaries, presidential chiefs of staff, attorney general, TNI commanders, Indonesian police chiefs, heads of non-ministerial government institutions, secretarial leaders of state institutions, governors, and other regent/mayor.

Through this Presidential Instruction, President Jokowi ordered that every minister to regional heads prepare and establish regulations to support the acceleration of the implementation of the use of electric vehicles. The President also instructed the preparation of budget allocations to support the program.

Based on Presidential Instruction 7/2022, the use of electric vehicles as government official vehicles can be carried out through a purchase, lease, and/or conversion scheme of fueled motor vehicles into battery-based electric motorized vehicles in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

The government provided a total of 6,161 delegation and security vehicles to support the G20 Summit.

One country is said to be using 15 electric cars consisting of 10 VVIP circuits and 5 circuits for pairs of heads of state/government. For the VVIP group, 123 units of Genesis G80 will be prepared, for delegates, there will be 246 units of Hyundai Ioniq 5, then for the "lead car" there will be 124 units of Hyundai Ioniq, and security will be prepared for 123 units of Lexus UX300e.

There are also 290 units of motorized vehicles for escort patrols and 300 units of Wuling Air EV as operational vehicles.

In the electric vehicle roadmap, it is targeted that there will be 2 million units of electric vehicles on the streets of Indonesia within the next three years or to be precise in 2025.
