JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) held a Nail Mine Operation as a follow-up to reports from residents regarding the prevalence of nail mines on the area's roads. Residents suspect that the nail mines scattered on the road are the actions of unscrupulous tire repairmen not far from the location of the distribution.

"We have informed the sub-district Satpol PP and the community protection section to carry out nail mine operations", said East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budhy Novian, in Jakarta on Thursday.

Budhy explained that the nail mine operation was carried out on DI Panjaitan Street, Cipinang Cempedak Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

"The result is approximately half a kilogram of iron umbrella pieces and bolt rings attached to the magnet", said Budhy.

Furthermore, he said that the Satpol PP would continue to carry out nail mine operations on several other roads in the East Jakarta area.

Previously, a resident made a complaint through the Jakarta Kini (Jaki) application on Wednesday, September, regarding several roads in the East Jakarta area that were considered prone to nail mines. As a result, many motorcyclists and cars became victims.

"Please help to clean the road and check on tire repairmen along the road. Including tire patchers", wrote the reporter on the Jaki application.

The complaint stated that the locations prone to nail mines include DI Panjaitan Street, Jatinegara District, Jenderal Ahmad Yani Street, Matraman District, to the red light Jalan Pramuka and Jalan Pemuda.

The resident also mentioned that in the past week alone, his vehicle's tires have been hit by nail mines four times around the location.

He also suspects the involvement of unscrupulous tire repairmen on Pramuka Street, Matraman District, and along the Rawamangun area, Pulogadung District, who are suspected of spreading nail mines.
