JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has accelerated the travel time of 10 long-distance train trips (KAJJ) starting departure Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the acceleration of travel time is an innovation so that customers can arrive faster at their destination, in line with KAI's 77th birthday theme, which is Rise faster, Serving Better.

"This train travel time acceleration is part of improving KAI services at the moment of KAI's 77th Anniversary which is commemorated on September 28," said Joni in Jakarta, Monday, September 12, quoted from Antara.

Joni explained that a number of trains that experienced an acceleration of travel time were Argo Sindoro (Gambir - Semarang Tawang pp), Argo Muria (Gambir - Semarang Tawang pp), Bima (Gambir - Surabaya Gubeng pp), Sembrani (Gambir - Surabaya Pasarturi pp), and KA Turangga (Bandung - Surabaya Gubeng pp).

Adapun 10 perjalanan dari lima nama KAJJ yang mengalami penyekatan waktu hingga 31 menit, sehingga para pelanggan pun dapat lebih efficient menggunakan waktunya dalam melakukan mobilitas keluar kota.

The following is the acceleration of the travel time of 5 long-distance trains:

Joni further revealed that the acceleration of the travel time of this train can be realized through the improvement of infrastructure by KAI and the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.

The improvements were carried out across various traffic such as Ciawi Ciamis, Banjar Kroya, Blitar Kertosono, and other routes.

Improvements made include building a railway double line, improving the quality of rail road materials, upgrading the signaling system, engineering the curved geometric, and improving the quality of rail and bridge maintenance roads.

With the improvements made, the maximum speed of the 10th train journey increased from the previous 105 km per hour to 120 km per hour.

"Although there is an increase in speed, KAI always prioritizes the safety of train travel," he said.

He added that the shorter travel time also affected the change in the train departure schedule.

KAI appealed to prospective customers to check and re-assure the departure time listed on the ticket.

"Hopefully, through accelerating travel times on a number of these trains, KAI will always be a mode of public transportation that is fast, safe, comfortable, and reliable by the community," concluded Joni.
