DMM G20 Builds World's Trust in Bangka Belitung

JAKARTA - Deputy Regent of Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Isyak Meirobie, said the success of holding the G20 Development Ministerial Meeting (DMM) has increasingly raised and promoted Belitung to foreign countries.

"The G20 is an opportunity and trust that can lift Belitung Island to be more known to foreign countries in terms of organizing international conferences and MICE", he said in Tanjung Pandan, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

According to him, the implementation of the G20 Development Ministerial Meeting on 7-9 September 2022 in the area went smoothly thanks to the support and collaboration of all levels of society.

"The people of Belitung Island who are friendly, compact, and work together through good hospitality have received recognition and praise from the delegates", he said.

Isyak added that all of the G20 DMM delegates have now returned to their respective countries.

He said the delegation gave appreciation during the G20 DMM, one of which was impressed by the hospitality of the people of Belitung Island.

"Many ministerial class delegates who will leave Belitung hug me so warmly, they say thank you for being in Belitung like in their country and being accepted like family", he said.

He hopes that the implementation of the G20 DMM in that area will benefit Belitung in both the short and long term.

"This impact is not immediately felt by all parties, but believe me today we have built a trust from the outside world towards Belitung", he said.
