2 Weeks Later, Jokowi Returned To Sambangi Maluku, Regent Asked To Prepare Students For Welcome

MALUKU - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to visit re-districts in Maluku Province which are directly adjacent to neighboring countries. The Head of State is scheduled to visit the Archipelago of Aru and Southwest Maluku (MBD) on September 14-15.

"Pada Sabtu (10 September) malam saya dihubungi Protocoler Istana yang menyatakan bahwa Presiden Jokowi bersama Ibu Negara dan rombongan akan datang kembali ke Ambon, dan menginap di Aru pada 14 September dan 15 September dilanjutkan ke Tiakur, Ibu Kota Kabupaten Maluku Barat Daya," kata Gubernur Maluku, Murad Ismail, di Ambon, Minggu 11 September

The latest information he obtained was conveyed directly by Murad during a teleconference with regents/mayors throughout Maluku from the Hadukau field, Galunggung, Sirimau District.

The Aru Islands Regency is known to be an area bordering Australia, while Southwest Maluku borders Timor Leste.

According to Murad, the President was impressed when he visited Saumlaki, Tanimbar Islands Regency, on September 1-2, 2022, so he returned to visit Maluku.

"So we should all be proud and happy because in just two weeks, the President and his entourage will return to visit Maluku and spend the night in areas where there are still minimal facilities and infrastructure," he said, quoted by Antara.

He added, apart from being impressed with the warm welcome of the people of Maluku during a visit to Saumlaki and Ambon, the President also wants to take a closer look at the development in the two districts that are Indonesia's homepage with the neighboring country.

"He is very happy with the community's warm welcome. That's why he wants to return to Maluku. I hope Regent Aru and MBD can prepare the President's pick-up well," he said.

Murad also asked Regent Aru Johan Gonga and Deputy Regent of MBD Agustinus Kilikily, to prepare school students to welcome President Jokowi and his entourage, as well as prepare representative lodging to be occupied by the Head of State.

"Mr. President does not like staying at the pavilion, therefore just prepare a decent and representative lodging to be occupied. Take advantage of all existing limitations to optimally welcome the visit of the Head of State and his entourage. If there is a shortage, immediately coordinate and will be handled from the province," he added.

The governor also emphasized that he would immediately send a team from the province to help the Aru and MBD Islands Regency Governments and prepare a plan for the President's visit to the two regions carefully.

"So if you ask the President what the shortcomings are, please the Regent of Aru and MBD answer according to the existing conditions, so that the President will pay attention to and help him," he said.
