Bogor State Prosecutor's Office Detains School Principal Suspected of Corruption in BOS Funds of IDR 1 Billion

BOGOR - The District Attorney's Office of Bogor Regency, West Java has detained a school principal (principal) with the initials MK (56) suspected of corruption in the School Operational Assistance (BOS) fund worth IDR 1 billion.

"The decision of the investigative team, based on the results of the investigation, investigation, testimony of witnesses and sufficient evidence, finally the Constitutional Court as the Head of the Independent Generation Vocational School from today we detained", said the Head of Special Crimes at the Bogor District Attorney's Office, Dodi Wiraatmaja, as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 8.

According to him, the Constitutional Court was named a suspect because he was suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in BOS funds, both from the West Java Provincial Government and the central government, starting from 2018 to 2021 fiscal year.

Dodi explained that the Court was suspected of carrying out a fictitious procurement mode, resulting in budget overlap by misusing BOS funds.

"The method is fictitious procurement, double budgeting with fellow BOS funds and parental tuition funds collected by the school committee", said Dodi.

The Bogor District Attorney's Office is still investigating the case of the MK suspect, including seeking the involvement of other parties. So, there may be new suspects.

The Constitutional Court was charged with Article 2 or Article 3 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraphs 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

"Recovery or refund of state financial losses is already regulated by the Law on Corruption Eradication, but it does not remove the threat of criminal acts", said Dodi.
