MATARAM - The quadruplets were born safely by cesarean section at the Regional General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB).

Head of the Cesarean Surgery Team at the NTB Provincial Hospital, Dr. Agus Rusdhy H Hamid, said that the birth of quadruplets was the first to be handled by the NTB Provincial Hospital.

"These quadruplets were born in a cesarean section which was carried out on Wednesday, September 7 at around 08.30 WITA", Agus Rusdhy H Hamid said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 8.

The Consultant Fetomaternal Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at the NTB Provincial Hospital said the four male twins were the children of M Umar (35 years) and Siti Nursiah (35 years).

"The baby's mother is a referral patient from Bima, and the operation was carried out at 28/29 weeks of gestation. Thank God the operation went smoothly, approximately 45 minutes. The baby's mother is in a stable condition", said Rusdhy.

It is known that baby I was born with a weight (BB) of 1,350 grams, baby II with a weight of 1,370 grams, baby III with a weight of 1,100 grams, and the fourth baby was born with a weight of 1,195 grams.

"The four babies were born one minute apart", he said.

According to him, currently, the four babies are receiving intensive care in the NICU room at the NTB Provincial Hospital. They were handled by Dr. I Ketut Adi Wirawan and a team of doctors at the NTB Provincial Hospital.

"The baby's mother is in a stable condition at this time", said Rusdhy.

The Director of the NTB Provincial Hospital, Dr. Lalu Herman Mahaputra, said that this birth was carefully prepared, where from the beginning of arrival, the condition of the mother and fetus was continuously monitored by the hospital.

"This is a unique case because this quadruplet pregnancy occurs through a normal fertilization process, not artificial fertilization or the IVF process", said Dr. Jack, his nickname.

Meanwhile, the parents of the twins, Umar said that they were relieved and grateful for the birth of the four twins.

"Alhamdulillah, with the presence of these four babies. We also express our gratitude to the NTB Provincial Hospital", he said.

These four twins are the third sons of a farmer couple from Kaboro Village, Lambitu District, Bima Regency.

Previously, the couple had a 10-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
