Made Of Tipu To Billions Of Rupiah, Owners Of Metromini Buses Promising Can Operate Using TransJakarta Name

JAKARTA - Accompanied by joining PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta), a number of bus owners of Metromini became victims of alleged fraud and embezzlement with a total loss of up to Rp. 1 billion.

Herlambang Wicaksono as Commissioner of PT Metromini, said the owners admitted that they were asked for Rp300 million so that the Metromini bus, which is now prohibited from operating in Jakarta, could pave part of the PT TransJakarta fleet.

"The agreement is that one member is promised a contract per kilometer. Meanwhile, the contract from PT TransJakarta is not yet available for PT Metromini," said Herlambang Wicaksono in Jakarta, Friday.

Herlambang added that the fraud was allegedly carried out by a PT Metromini administrator who is now a reported person at the East Jakarta Metro Police.

He said the bus owner was willing to hand over the money because he was deceived by a fake cooperation contract between PT Metromini and PT TransJakarta.

The fake contact letter was made in 2019 and there is a signature of one Director of PT TransJakarta. Even though PT TransJakarta stated that he had never issued the contract letter.

"There is already a attorney (victim) who wrote to PT TransJakarta. We have given a reply letter in which PT Metromini has not contracted with PT TransJakarta," said Herlambang.

One of the victims named Ferry Irawan has made a report on the alleged fraud to the East Jakarta Metro Police on April 2, 2022.

The report is registered with the number LP/B/719/IV/2022/SPKT/East Jakarta Metro Police/Polda Metro Jaya.

In the report, the victim said that he had handed over Rp300 million to the reported party on behalf of Nofridi as a down payment for the procurement of the TransJakarta unit.

East Jakarta Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Ahsanul Muqaffi confirmed the report on the alleged fraud in the procurement of the TransJakarta unit.

"Just finished confronting today. Still in the investigation stage," said Ahsanul Muqaffi.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed separately that the Head of the Public Relations and Partnership Department of PT TransJakarta, Iwan Samariansyah, said that until now there has been no Metromini bus operating as a fleet of PT TransJakarta.

"Because there are still administrative processes. The management of Metromini has dualism," said Iwan.

He also said that PT TransJakarta had never issued a contract letter for cooperation with PT Metromini as a bus operator.

"As far as I know, not yet. Regarding the issue of money, it is clearly a serious violation if it really happened. Violating the principles of good corporate governance," said Iwan.
