TNI AL Deny Hoax Of Colonel Budi Iryanto Dies Related To 179 Kg Cocaine Case, But Due To Illness

JAKARTA - Head of the Naval Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral Julius Widjojono confirmed that Marine Colonel (F) Budi Iryanto died of his illness. The Indonesian Navy has dismissed the hoax about the cocaine smuggling case.

"This needs to be explained to the public due to rumors circulating that Colonel Budi Iryanto died due to the discovery and failure to smuggle 179 kg of cocaine worth Rp 1.2 trillion, while he was serving as Danlanal Banten," said Kadispenal in a written statement, Tuesday, 23 August.

Based on the report from RSPAL dr. Ramelan, the chronology of the death of Colonel Budi Iryanto began on August 4th when the patient came to RSPAL dr. Ramelan with the main complaint of weakness.

After a medical examination, Colonel Budi Iryanto was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. Then, Colonel Budi Iryanto was treated with PRC transfusion, albumin infusion, antibiotics, TKRP diet, and hemodialysis.

On August 18 at 20:20 WIB, the patient experienced a loss of consciousness, and was then transferred to the ICU.

Furthermore, on August 20 at 06.53 WIB, the patient's condition decreased and maximum medical treatment was carried out. However, at 08.00 WIB, Colonel Budi Iryanto was declared dead by the doctor.

Based on this data, Kadispenal hopes that the rumors circulating can be straightened out while respecting the family of the deceased.

Meanwhile, regarding the placement of Danlanal Banten, he was promoted to Asops Danlantamal XII shortly after the discovery of cocaine and served as Sahli Koarmada II when he died.

Kadispenal emphasized that this had been patterned and was in accordance with the procedures for placing positions within the Indonesian Navy in a reasonable manner.
