Flights From China To Bali Will Be Re-opened In Early September, Foreign Tourist Arrivals Are Predicted To Increase By 20 Percent

DENPASAR - Bali Governor Wayan Koster confirmed that flights from China to Bali will reopen starting September 2. The opening of the China-Bali route will boost the number of foreign tourists (tourists).

"Yes, on September 2. If China has entered, it will definitely go up a lot (tourists)," said Koster when met in Denpasar, Bali, Monday, August 15.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Province Tourism Office (Dispar), Tjok Bagus Pemayun, said that one airline arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on September 2 as the inaugural flight.

It is predicted that the number of foreign tourists will increase to Bali because China is the number 2 market share of tourists who travel to the Island of the Gods after Australia.

From the Tourism Office's notes, before the COVID-19 pandemic, tourist visits from Australia to Bali reached 1.3 million people per year. Meanwhile, Chinese tourists visit 1.1 million people per year.

"Because our market share is number two in China, we hope that it will be bigger and more tourists will come. Because we know that in the past two years, both foreign tourists, China in particular, want to go to Bali, they have been wanting to come back for a long time." said the Pemayun.
