COVID-19 Update As Of August 12: New Cases 6,091 From Examination Of 118,946 Specimens, Most DKI

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 118,946 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6,091 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,273,228 and active cases have increased by 847 to 53,576 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Friday, August 12.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 5,226 people, bringing the total to 6,062,463 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 18 cases and totaled 157,189 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,858 cases and a total of 1,358,313 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,194 new cases with a total of 1,148,828 cases. Banten has 638 new cases and a total of 320,006 cases. East Java has 428 new cases and a total of 590,549 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,555 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 820 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 728 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 423 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 105.029,539.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.05 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 7,050 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 202,891,895 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,432,646 vaccinations for the second dose. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 58,218,431. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
