DENPASAR - The arrangement of the tourist town of Ubud in Gianyar Regency, Bali, which includes the construction of the Ubud Thematic Market to the main parking lot, a community meeting center to Ubud's Astina Field is targeted for completion in 2024.

This was revealed during the visit of the Deputy for Regional Development of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Himawan Hariyoga Djojokusumo, who directly inspected the arrangement of the Ubud area.

"I want to follow up on the master plan that has been prepared and see how far it has progressed and what can be done in the last two years until 2024. Among other things, the development of the Ubud Thematic Market, Central Parking, and tourist villages can be realized soon," Himawan said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 10.

The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas wants what has been planned in the master plan can actually be implemented and benefit local residents and visitors alike.

"The goal is to realize the master plan, so there is evidence that it doesn't just stop as a plan but can be implemented, and can not only benefit the local community but also for tourists or visitors," he added.

Seeing the weakness of funding from the APBN or APBD channels, Himawan suggested that the Gianyar Regency Government cooperate with the private sector regarding its development, and promised to facilitate it.

Himawan's suggestion was welcomed by the Head of Bappeda Gianyar Regency, Gede Widarma Suharta, who admitted that he was very happy to be facilitated by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas to find funding sources.

"We welcome it, especially when it will be facilitated by the Deputy of Bappenas so that we are in this difficult situation if we cannot be financed from the state budget, we can cooperate with the private sector," said Widarma.

"The goal is that the main parking lot will be ready before 2024. Either way, we'll try to finance it either with cooperation or later, the deputy will facilitate," he said.

The construction of the Ubud thematic market has already begun, but the construction of the Astina Field is still in the search for funding sources. The plan is that under the Astina Ubud Square or in the basement area, a two-story parking center will be built which is estimated to accommodate around 400 cars and more than 300 motorbikes.

On the edge of the field is also planned to be filled with parks for the elderly, children's play areas or jogging tracks.

The construction of the Astina Field has also gone through the socialization stage to local residents and will not turn off tourism objects in the form of restaurants or inns in the east of the field.

Especially in the west of the field, precisely at SD Negeri 1 Ubud, a Community Center Building will also be built. In the building, there will be three floors for parking which are integrated with parking at Astina Square.

And on the first floor, the Ubud MSME center will be built and on it a library or meeting room will also be provided
