Regarding Lowest KPK's Image Last 5 Years Based On Survey Version, Firli Bahuri: We Are Not Allergic, Good As Control Tools

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri appreciated a number of institutions that gave an assessment of his institution. He confirmed that he was not allergic to the survey results.

This was conveyed in response to the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey which stated that the image of the anti-corruption commission was at 57 percent or the lowest for the past five years.

This survey was conducted by telephone interview by Litbang Kompas on 19-21 July. There were 502 respondents aged at least 17 years from 34 provinces who were interviewed.

"We are grateful to colleagues who conducted the survey. Similar to those who filed pretrial lawsuits, we are not allergic. That's good because one of the control tools is to test, and supervise the work of the KPK," Firli said in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 9th.

He also said there was nothing wrong with polling activities. However, these surveys are usually affected by the timing of their implementation.

Firli gave an example, for example, a survey was conducted after the increase in fuel oil (BBM) occurred so that what happened to the government would be considered not pro-people. Vice versa.

Thus, the KPK is more confident in the results of the Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI). The reason is that there are more participants or respondents.

"The number of respondents (SPI, ed) is 255,010. This is the largest. If I read yesterday's electability survey, it was only 1,200 people, but that's how we received the survey, no one protested," said Firli.

Not only that, but he also saw many surveys with similar themes but different results. As a result, the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK did not want to bother and chose to take the results of the poll as input and conduct a study.

"The surveys are different, different results can occur. So the KPK has never denied rejecting the survey results. We use that as input," said Firli.
