ACEH - The North Aceh District Attorney's Investigation Team has named five suspects in the alleged corruption case in the construction of 251 poor housing units in the area for the 2021 fiscal year.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the North Aceh District Attorney's Office, Arif Kadarman, said five suspects were determined based on the results of the examination of a number of witnesses, experts, and documents related to the construction of a home for the poor.

Arif Kadarman said the alleged corruption began in 2021 when the Baitul Mal Secretariat of North Aceh Regency carried out work on the construction of 251 needy houses.

"The work is carried out on a self-managed basis with a budget of Rp. 11.2 billion, sourced from zakat funds that are included in the PAD specifically for North Aceh Regency," he said.

Construction of the house will begin on August 31, 2021, with a working period of 120 calendar days. However, until now most of the construction of the house has not been completed 100 percent.

"Meanwhile, the number of houses that were built is problematic. In handling this case, investigators also searched the Baitul Mal Office of North Aceh Regency and secured a number of documents related to the construction of the poor house," said Arif Kadarman.
