Indonesia's Creative Economy Is Famous To Tunisia, Appointed As Honorary Guest Of The Exhibition At Sousse

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Embassy in Tunis has been trusted as the guest of honor in the exhibition of the creative economy, furniture and traditional crafts which will take place in Sousse, Tunisia on 22-31 July 2022.

"Indonesia is the guest of honor because it is known to have experience in the creative economy and traditional crafts and plays a role in the furniture trade to Tunisia," said the Indonesian Embassy in Tunis in a statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, July 28, quoted from Antara.

The exhibition was attended by 350 business people from various provinces in Tunisia.

Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia Zuhairi Misrawi together with Governor Sousse Nabil Farjani officially opened one of the largest exhibitions in the tourist and industrial city of Tunisia which has been going on since 1955.

Zuhairi expressed his appreciation to the Tunisian government for Indonesia-Tunisia relations that continue to develop, and one of them can be seen through Indonesia's participation in the exhibition of the country's creative economy.

"I received great appreciation from Indonesia's participation in the exhibition of furniture, creative economy, and traditional crafts at the Sousse exhibition. Indonesia was the guest of honor and the only country participating in the exhibition," said Zuhairi.

Zuhairi and Sousse officially opened the exhibition and directly observed the various creative economy products on display.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Tunis in the exhibition introduced and promoted furniture, traditional crafts, the creative economy, and the culture of the archipelago," said Zuhairi.

He also mentioned that furniture from Indonesia is well known, as well as the creative economy and traditional Indonesian crafts which are able to support the local economy and can penetrate traditional markets.

"I say that furniture from Indonesia is a favorite for hotels, restaurants, cafes, and middle-class homes in Tunisia. We are very proud of the appreciation of Tunisians for furniture from Indonesia," he said.

"Therefore, I convey the potential for cooperation (Indonesia-Tunisia) in the creative economy and traditional crafts, so that the two countries can open markets," he continued.
