PAPUA - An 87-year-old grandmother who was reported missing since Sunday, July 24 in the Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku Province, was finally found by the Village Trustees (Babinsa) from the 1507-01/Larat Military District Command.

The Babinsa spent three days exploring the gardens and forests looking for the whereabouts of the grandmother named Patresya Batlayeri. The search was carried out by Babinsa together with local residents.

"The search was carried out by Babinsa for three days with the villagers after receiving reports that grandma Patresya had not yet returned to her house," said the 1507-01/Larat Military District Commander Serma Pius when contacted, Wednesday, July 27, evening.

Patresya reportedly left the house to catch up with her children who were in the garden on Sunday, July 24, at around 09.00 eastern Indonesia time. However, until the evening of Monday July 25, the grandmother had not returned home.

Her family panicked and reported to the village office. A report was also sent to the Military District Commander.

Serma Pius then assigned Second Sergeant Baltasar, who works daily in Alusi Kelaan Village, Kormomolin District, Tanimbar Islands Regency, to help residents look for Patresya and managed to find the grandmother on Wednesday, July 27, morning.

"Grandmother Patresya was found sitting under a tree crying, so weak because she had not eaten and drank for three days," said Serma Pius.

After providing drinking water and food, Babinsa carried Grandma Patresya back to her house in Alusi Kelaan Village.

Based on the Antara report, Alusi Village Head Kelaan Isaksoluri and Grandma Patresya's family thanked the Larat Military District Command and Babinsa Baltasar for helping find Grandma Patresya.
