MKD Examines Members Of DPR F-Democrats Who Are Reported To Bareskrim, Denies Obscenity Of Women Who Have Served As Staff

JAKARTA - The Council's Honorary Court (MKD) has examined a member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party faction with the initials DK, who was reported to be related to an alleged molestation case to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

This examination is based on a report to the DK to the Criminal Investigation Police with the number LI/35/VI/2022/Subdit V dated June 15, 2022.

In the results of the examination, the MKD said that DK admitted to knowing the victim who was his staff when he served as Chairman of the Lamongan Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) in 2018.

"The results of this clarification are temporary and from the information provided by the person concerned, he indeed knew the victim as his staff when he served as Chairman of the Lamongan DPRD in 2018", said MKD Member Alien Mus in his statement, Wednesday, July 27.

"However, so far the relationship is said to be fine and has never been abused. This was later supported by witnesses from fellow DPRD employees who voluntarily gave written statements regarding the incident", he continued.

Alien Mus said the victim made a complaint addressed to the Indonesian Constitutional Court on suspicion of sexual abuse. He hoped that the victim could provide strong evidence to support the report.

“Authentic supporting evidence such as visa and others by Article 6 of DPR Regulation No. 2 of 2015 concerning Procedures for the Honorary Court of the Council", said Alien.

According to Alien Mus, reporting victims is important to provide justice and maintain the dignity of the DPR from the behavior and ethics of its members.

The existence of the MKD, he added, was aimed at creating justice and wisdom in all the behavior and actions of all individual components within the scope of work of the House of Representatives (DPR).

"As a complement to the council which has the responsibility to enforce the code of ethics and maintain the dignity and dignity of the Indonesia House of Representatives (DPR RI), we will welcome official complaints from the victims and maintain public trust to handle this case in a transparent, accountable and fair manner", said Alien.

Based on the police report document (LP), a member of the DPR, initials DK, has been reported to be in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police since June 15, 2022.

The member of the House of Representatives from the Democrats was reported to be related to allegations of violating Article 289 of the Criminal Code regarding the criminal act of obscenity. It is stated in the document that the alleged molestation took place in Jakarta, Semarang, Central Java, and Lamongan, East Java.
