Baim Wong Revokes Citayam Fashion Week Brand Registration, Deputy Governor Of DKI: From The Beginning It Was Public

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to Baim Wong's action in revoking the registration of Citayam Fashion Week Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) through PT Tiger Wong Entertainment.

As a party who does not support the registration of the Citayam Fashion Week brand, Riza views that the activities in Dukuh Atas which are currently being loved by "SCBD" teenagers are basically public property.

"I personally conveyed from the beginning that the place belongs to the public, belongs to the residents, belongs to all of us, no one should claim it," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, July 26.

Riza views that if Baim Wong wants to help develop Citayam Fashion Week activities, it does not mean that it is done by taking a patent from the name. Baim, according to Riza, can go directly and nurture the youth there.

"Baim Wong wants to help, that's a good thing. But actually there's no need to take care of the IPR. Just keep going down, foster, guide. I thank you, Baim Wong and his wife who help the children. better," he said.

For information, judging from the Intellectual Property Database (PDKI), Sunday, July 24, registration for Citayam Fashion Week was carried out on July 20, 2022 with the application number JID2022052181.

In addition to companies owned by Baim Wong and Paula, Citayam Fashion Week is registered by Indigo Aditya Nugroho. The application was received on July 21, 2022 with the application number JID2022052496.

After the registration was published, Baim Wong drew criticism from many parties, from netizens to regional heads such as Riza Patria and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. Netizens think Baim Wong stole ideas from young people from the outskirts of Jakarta.

Baim Wong finally chose to give up HAKI Citayam Fashion Week. He didn't want to blame people who had opinions because he also felt that it was natural that when he saw what he did, there would be questions.

Baim Wong also confirmed that he had no intention of taking rights that did not belong to him. "Because I have absolutely no intention of that (taking people's rights)," said Baim.
