Jambi Police Shoot Dead Robbers Who Fight

JAMBI - The Jambi Police Resmob Team arrested three robbers that occurred in Sungai Bahar, Muaro Jambi Regency. One of them was shot dead for fighting back.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Regional Police Kombes Andri Ananta Yudhistira said the three perpetrators were arrested by the Resmob team and the Muaro Jambi Resort Police in two different places in South Sumatra.

"We managed to catch three of the seven perpetrators of the theft with violence that occurred in the Sungai Bahar area, Muaro Jambi," said Andri Ananta as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19. and Panca Mulya Village, Sungai Bahar District.

The Jambi Police Resmob team received information on the incident on Friday (15/7) the perpetrator was in the Musi Banyuasin Regency area. The Resmob team immediately gave chase to arrest the suspect. The three suspects arrested are S (46), T (52), and D (38).

"Perpetrators T and S had time to fight back so decisive action was taken by the officers. T was immediately rushed to the hospital by personnel but died," said Dirreskrimum.

There is also the mode of theft with violence in both places the same. The perpetrator entered the victim's house by prying open the window of the house in the early hours of the morning while the victim was sleeping.

The perpetrator when he saw the victim woke up immediately grabbed and tied him and threatened to kill him with a sharp weapon. The perpetrator then took the victim's valuables.

"In this incident, the perpetrator also abused the victim by threatening to rape the victim's child in front of his family if he did not immediately hand over the valuables that the victim had kept," explained Andri Ananta.

The evidence that was secured was one black FN firearm with 12 rounds of ammunition, one chrome Revolver assembled firearm with 4 rounds of ammunition, one green air rifle, cash in the amount of Rp. 1.2, gold necklace, gold bracelet, ring gold, and other personal belongings of the perpetrator.

"We are still chasing four DPOs," said the Director of Criminal Investigation.

The perpetrators are subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code paragraphs 1 and 2 concerning theft with violence, the threat of imprisonment is a maximum of 12 years in prison.
