NTT - A boat containing two fishermen from the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was stranded at Awang Harbor, Central Lombok Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The sea waves caused the condition of the fishing boat that was looking for fish in the Flores waters to sink.

"The two fishermen have been given medical assistance at the Awang Health Center", said Head of the Central Lombok Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ridwan Makruf at the local regent's office, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 18.

The two fishermen, Lucas Lucigadi (27) and Leonard Dagetuka (18) are temporarily being accommodated at the Pujut Police Station, pending the results of coordination with the NTT Provincial government for the process of returning them to their hometowns.

"We are still waiting for the results of coordination with the NTT government, then they will be sent home", he said.

The incident that happened to the two fishermen began when they went to sea looking for fish using a small boat. After being in the middle of the sea, their boat engine was damaged and sunk by the waves, so they were tossed about in the middle of the sea.

After being tossed around in the middle of the sea for several days, they were swept away by the current and found by fishermen from Central Lombok, so they were rescued to Awang Harbor.

"They went to sea on July 3 and found them on July 11 and until now they have not returned to NTT", he said.

Previously, the BMKG appealed to the community, or fishermen living on the coast to remain alert to the impact of high waves that occurred in the waters of NTB in particular.
