Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Muhadjir And Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Welcoming The Return Of The First Wave Of Hajj Pilgrims At Soekarno Hatta Airport

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy accompanied by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, early Saturday, July 16, welcomed the return of the first batch of pilgrims at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten. At the same time, to ensure the handling of health protocols goes well.

"Today we welcome the arrival of our brothers from the Holy Land of Mecca, after completing the pilgrimage. Hopefully the repatriation process goes smoothly and all pilgrims are in good health and become a mabrur hajj," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir in his written statement.

Muhadjir emphasized that the health protocol applied to pilgrims who had just returned was not to quarantine, but to check the body temperatures of the pilgrims. If it is detected above 37 degrees Celsius, it will immediately be handled by officers.

On the same occasion, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya revealed that airports serving hajj debarkation are ready to accept the arrival of hajj pilgrims.

"Even though there is no quarantine, we together with the Port Health Office (KKP) will guard and provide the best service if there are pilgrims who experience problems or are sick," said the Minister of Transportation.

For information, the first batch will depart for the country from July 15, 2022 to July 30, 2022. Meanwhile, the return of the second batch of pilgrims will depart from July 30 to August 13, 2022.

In the first batch of returning pilgrims, there were seven groups of four debarkations, namely: Jakarta - Pondok Gede (780 pilgrims, 2 groups); Jakarta - Bekasi (818 congregations, 2 groups); Solo (714 congregations, 2 groups); and Padang (393 congregants, 1 group).

Also present in welcoming the return of the pilgrims, Acting Director General of Hajj and Umrah Implementation of the Ministry of Religion Muhammad Aqil Irham, Plt. Director General of Civil Aviation, Mr. Nur Isnin Istiartono, and other relevant agencies.
