JAKARTA - The meatball stall on Jalan Komarudin, RT 09/05, Milling Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, was scorched by fire, Thursday, July 14, noon. The fire was caused by a gas cylinder leaking while cooking.

The Head of Operations for the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, said that his party received a report at 13.18 WIB.

Gatot said, the cause of the fire was a gas cylinder leak.

"So when it was cooking there was a gas leak and ignition occurred," he said.

His party deployed three fire engines along with 15 personnel to extinguish the fire.

"The blackout started at 13:27 WIB and ended at 13:45 WIB. There were no casualties," he said.

The value of material losses due to the meatball kiosk fire is estimated at IDR 50 million.

"Part of the fire was the kiosk, the kiosk area was about 10 square meters. For material losses, it was around Rp. 50 million. There were 5 people affected by 1 family," he said.
