SURABAYA - The District Attorney of Batu City, East Java finally arrested JE, a defendant in a sexual assault case against his student at Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) High School Batu City, East Java. This was done after JE was forcibly picked up by the prosecutor's team at her residence in Citraland Surabaya.

"The suspect was immediately detained today by the Batu District Attorney at the Class 1 Penitentiary Lowok Waru Malang", said Head of the East Java Attorney General's Office, Fathur Rohman, confirmed.

According to Fathur, JE was arrested after an arrest and detention order was issued, based on the decision of the panel of judges 60/pid.sus/2002.pn.mlg. There are two points in the court's decision.

First, ordering the detention of the defendant Julianto Eka Putra alias Kojul, in the detention center for a maximum of 30 days from the time he is detained in the detention center. Second, ordering a copy of this determination to be immediately submitted to the prosecutor, the defendant/legal counsel/family, set in Malang, Monday, July 11, 2022.

"The trial is now all finished, all that remains is the demands on July 20, 2022", he said.

Previously, 15 SPI High School students were victims of sexual violence by the defendant JE. The owner and manager of Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) High School in Batu City, was reported to the East Java Police by the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA). JE is suspected of sexually assaulting 15 of his students.

In addition to allegations of criminal acts of sexual violence, Komnas PA also reports allegations of criminal acts of physical violence as well as allegations of criminal acts of economic exploitation.

Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) High School of Batu City is one of the Double Track High Schools in East Java. Double Track High Schools itself is a breakthrough from the East Java Education Office to reduce the unemployment rate for high school graduates, which has been initiated in 2018.

Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) High School was established in 2007 at Pandanrejo Street Number 2 Bumiaji, Batu City, East Java. This boarding school or boarding school carries the concept of free school.

Previously, the East Java Prosecutor's Office received the phase I dossier on September 17, 2021. After examining the case files, the evidence for the alleged article has not yet been fulfilled. On September 23, 2021, investigators were notified that the file was incomplete. Furthermore, on September 30, 2021, the case files will be returned to the investigators to be completed.

After approximately two months of returning the case files to investigators, on December 6, 2021, the East Java Prosecutor's Office received the delegation of the SPI case files.
