MAMUJU - Acting Governor of West Sulawesi (Sulbar) Akmal Malik expressed his anger after inspecting the abandoned Palipi Fishing Port, Majene Regency.

"Palipi Port looks abandoned and neglected. This is my evaluation of the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD)," said West Sulawesi Governor Akmal Malik in Mamuju, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 21.

He said the Port of Palipi is an asset of West Sulawesi so that his party evaluates the performance of the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of West Sulawesi which is considered not optimal in carrying out its duties and functions.

The governor was also angry because the Red and White Flag which was located in front of the Palipi Port Office looked shabby and dull.

"You can't even manage the red and white flag, let alone take care of the development of the marine and fisheries sector in West Sulawesi, which has huge potential," he said.

He said the assets of the Port of Palipi must be managed optimally to boost the regional economy because West Sulawesi is the economic buffer zone of the new State Capital (IKN).

"West Sulawesi is strategic as a support for IKN so that the Port of Palipi must be managed optimally to improve the management of the fisheries and marine sector because it promises to increase the regional economy," he said.

He emphasized that the assets owned by West Sulawesi must be optimized to improve the regional economy.

"All OPDs in West Sulawesi must maximize their performance to manage their assets in order to boost West Sulawesi's original regional income (PAD)," he said.
