This Observer Says Jokowi's Power Has Ended, Political Parties Are Busy Forming Coalition 2024

JAKARTA - Political parties are starting to get busy exploring political communication to build coalitions to welcome the 2024 General Election.

Starting from Golkar, PAN and PPP which formed the United Indonesia Coalition. PKS and PKB which initiated the Red Ant Coalition. Even PKB also 'playing heart' with Gerindra to form the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition.

The majority of these parties are political parties that support the government. So, have the political parties competing to form a coalition already "prepared" to leave President Joko Widodo, considering that in the upcoming 2024 presidential election they will no longer be able to nominate themselves?

Political observer from Indonesia's Al Azhar University Andriadi Achmad, believes that Jokowi is not abandoned by his supporting political parties. However, political parties are preparing to find a successor because Jokowi's power is about to expire.

"Jokowi is not actually abandoned by political parties, but is a reality like sugar, 'Jokowi's power' has begun to run out of sweetness," Andriadi told VOI, Monday, June 20.

"Therefore, the political parties are slowly starting to move on and exploring the coalition ticket to the 2024 presidential election," he continued.

This phenomenon, according to Andriadi, also happened when the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, stepped down. At that time, the supporting political parties also began to flirt with exploring a coalition to find a replacement for SBY.

"Just like SBY's second period (2009-2014), the last few years the political parties supporting the government have begun to move to determine their coalition partners in the 2014 presidential election," said Andriadi.
