A South Kalimantan Hajj Candidate Dies In Medina

BANJARMASIN - Sad news has hit the hajj pilgrims from South Kalimantan again, after a pilgrim candidate from the Banjarmasin Embarkation group 3 died in Medina, Saudi Arabia, Sunday at around 18.00 Saudi Arabian time (WAS).

The Head of Hajj and Umrah Organizing for the Regional Office of the South Kalimantan Ministry of Religion, H Rusbandi, revealed that the 50-year-old South Kalimantan hajj candidate who died was named Sugiansyah Basuki M Yamin from North Hulu Sungai (HSU).

According to news from the health workers for the Indonesian Hajj in Medina, he said, the calhaj who died was not due to a serious illness before, because he was active like other pilgrims.

From the chronology, said Rusbandi, the calhaj after the Fajr prayer took part in pilgrimage activities, until the noon prayer at the Prophet's Mosque.

"After returning to the hotel he slept," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 20.

After that, he continued, the calhaj returned to the Prophet's Mosque to pray Asr until he returned to the hotel.

"When he was at the hotel, the deceased chatted with his roommate, it was stated that it was okay," he said.

It was only around 17.45 WAS, said Rusbandi, when the calhaj suddenly fell out of the bathroom.

"Was seen directly by hotel employees. According to his confession, the deceased was holding his left chest when he fell," he said.

After the incident, the calhaj received first aid and was taken to a health facility to receive intensive care.

"At around 18.00 WAS, after receiving medical assistance, he was finally declared dead," he said.

Thus, there have been 2 calhaj of South Kalimantan who died, the first named Samsinah bint Usman Hasbulah (50) from batch 1 from Balangan while on a flight to Medina.

Banjarmasin Embarkation, South Kalimantan will fly 7 batches, namely 5 batches from South Kalimantan with a hajj quota of 1,743 people.

Meanwhile 2 groups from Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) with a hajj quota of 739 people.
