Papuan Police Chief Suspects Perpetrators Of Brimob Attack Coming From KKB

JAKARTA - It is strongly suspected that the perpetrators of the attack that killed Brimob members in Napua, Jayawijaya Regency, were members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). This was conveyed by the Papuan Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Mathius Fakhiri. However, the Papuan Police are still conducting further investigations through investigations.

"On Monday (June 20) the Directorate General of Criminal Justice and I will go to Wamena to see firsthand and evaluate what has happened and whether it is by standard operating procedures (SOPs) in vulnerable areas", explained Fakhiri.

Fakhiri said, to strengthen the investigation carried out by the Jayawijaya Police, the Papuan Police have also sent additional troops to Wamena for law enforcement.

"This morning, apart from the 32 Brimob members, the Cartenz Peaceful Law Enforcement Task Force was also dispatched to Wamena to investigate and enforce the law", he said.

An internal investigation was also carried out, to whether it was by standard operating procedures (SOP) because his party always emphasized the application of the body system when there were at least five officers in vulnerable areas.

"However, from the reports received, when the incident occurred they were alone", said Inspector General Fakhiri.

In the incident that occurred in Napua, about 5 kilometers from Wamena, in addition to killing the officers, the perpetrators also took organic Polri weapons that were brought by two officers.

Two organic Polri firearms that were taken away by the perpetrators were AK101 and SSG08 (sniper).
