NTT - The General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) cooperates with religious institutions, including churches in NTT to increase constituents in the 2024 General Election.

The Coordinator of the Prevention and Inter-Institutional Relations Division of the Bawaslu of NTT Province, Jemris Fointun, said that this step was one of his various strategies to increase voter participation.

"We continue to review various strategies so that the implementation of the 2024 General Election is really of high quality with more voters giving their voting rights, both in the legislative election, presidential election, as well as regional head and deputy regional head elections in NTT", Jemris said in Kupang, NTT, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

Jemris said this was related to Bawaslu's efforts to increase voter participation in granting voting rights in the 2024 General Election.

According to him, Bawaslu in 22 regencies/cities in East Nusa Tenggara Province has currently carried out various socialization activities for the stages of implementing the election.

He said that working with religious institutions could help encourage citizens to vote in the upcoming elections.

Through the voices of religious leaders and community leaders, he said, they can provide various information directly to residents during religious activities regarding voter rights in the upcoming elections.

In addition, he said, Bawaslu is also collaborating with universities in the archipelago to carry out various socialization of various stages of the election for novice voters so that they can know their rights during the 2024 General Election.
