No Compromise Issuing IMB, Yogyakarta City Government Supported By PHRI DIY

YOGYAKARTA - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta supports the local government to avoid compromises related to the issuance of building permits (IMB) for hotels, restaurants, and apartments according to existing regulations.

The chairman of PHRI DIY, Deddy Pranowo Eryono, ensured that investors would accept if the provisions regarding building construction permits were strictly enforced.

"Not only for the city government, but also for members of the council, and all of them, including the community, if indeed hotels and restaurants, as well as others, cannot be conveyed. It's better, he (investor) will look for other areas," he said when contacted in Yogyakarta, Monday. , June 13.

Deddy admits that the alleged bribery case for an apartment building permit that ensnared former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti has affected the investment climate in the hotel and restaurant sector in the warm city.

A number of investors who plan to invest in Yogyakarta, said Deddy, have finally considered switching to another district, and some have postponed it.

"Honestly, many investors have asked us how it is in the city of Yogyakarta like this. Actually, they want to build hotels and restaurants in Yogyakarta, but how come it's not going well," he said, as reported by Antara.

According to him, they are worried that the capital that will be invested in the construction of the hotel will lead to legal problems.

"Yesterday, investors from Bali and Jakarta asked us last. Then he moved to Sleman Regency and we pushed him to Kulon Progo, no need to go to the city. To be honest," he said.

He hopes that the Yogyakarta City Government will immediately respond to the problem by restoring the investment climate, especially in the hotel and restaurant sector as one of the contributors to local revenue (PAD) in the city of Yogyakarta.

The Yogyakarta City Government, he said, needed to maintain investor confidence by ensuring that investing in Yogyakarta's development was safe in accordance with existing regulations.

"Trust is very important for investors, don't let them have to spend a lot of money, invest in buildings and others, it turns out that in the middle of the road things are blocked by things that they don't expect. This must be fixed," he said.

PHRI DIY, said Deddy, fully supports the re-examination of a number of IMBs that have been issued by the Yogyakarta City Government during the leadership of the Mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti.

Deddy ensured that all members of the DIY PHRI as many as 482 hotels and restaurants had obtained various permits, including IMB.

"Don't worry about how to get an IMB, but what is clear is that he registered it, everything is complete. Whether it's legal or not, it's not the domain of the PHRI. This needs to be recorded," said Deddy.

According to him, basically the city of Yogyakarta still allows for the establishment of new hotels, especially for four and five stars.

"If four and five stars are still lacking, most of them are in Sleman, the city opens its doors to four and five stars. Why four and five stars? Because many tourists are looking for 'MICE' and other activities," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Real Estate Advisory (REI) DIY Rama Adyaksa Pradipta admitted that he was surprised that the alleged bribery case for an apartment building permit that ensnared the former mayor of Yogyakarta could occur because the legal umbrella or regulation regarding building construction permits in Yogyakarta City is the most complete compared to other districts.

"Comprehensive and complete so that when the applicant applies for a permit according to the regulations that have been determined in the area, there should be no need for certain deals or negotiations with the regulator or the government," he said.
