In Babylon, Many Foreign Workers Work In Waters, The Navy Promises To Help With Supervision

JAKARTA - The Navy is ready to assist the Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung, in supervising foreign workers in marine areas.

The Commander of the Bangka Belitung Naval Base (Danlanal) Marine Lt. Col. (F) Dadan Hamdani through the Marine Lieutenant Intelligence Sub Unit Commander (F) Susetyo Budi in Sungailiat, promised to be ready to synergize with local governments in supervising foreign workers who carry out work activities in sea waters.

He said the involvement of the Indonesian Navy in supervising foreign workers was part of strengthening the synergy in realizing regional security and order because it was known that several foreign workers were working in marine waters, such as on suction vessels producing tin ore mining.

In fact, those who are members of the foreign supervision team (Tim Pora) are scheduled to go directly to the field soon to collect data so that they know the real data on the number of foreign workers.

"Until now, no legal violations have been found by foreign workers and if a legal case is found, it will be investigated with the police", he said.

He invited all people who carry out activities in sea waters, especially fishermen, to jointly maintain security and order.

"If the community or fishermen while carrying out fishing activities at sea know that there is a threat of security disturbances at sea, I ask that they should immediately report to the nearest marine security post", he said.

According to him, maintaining and realizing security and order in the waters at sea is a shared responsibility, including the involvement of the fishing community.
