JAKARTA - Iran's military authority has again issued a strong warning against Iran, saying that the country's military is ready to tear down two of Israel's major cities, as a result of any mistakes made.
Brigadier General Kiumars Heydari, commander of Iran's Regular Ground Forces, confirmed that Iran would destroy the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa if Israel made a mistake, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
"For every mistake made by the enemy, we will bring down Tel Aviv and Haifa by order of the Supreme Leader," Heydari said.
Last month, he also issued a warning against aggressors that any foolish move would be taken seriously, referring to Iran as the safest country in the region.
Pointing to the deployment of Army Ground Force units to Iran's border areas, the commander said such a presence does not mean that the country faces a threat, but it is meant to increase military readiness and improve intelligence control at the border.
"Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys unparalleled security, and any aggressor who intends to attack the country will be rewarded for his stupidity," he warned, quoting Tasnim.
The latest event to drag the two countries apart was the death of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Colonel Sayd Khodai, in which he was shot dead by two men on motorbikes in Tehran.

The semi-official ISNA news agency said members of the Israeli intelligence service network had been found and arrested by the IRGC. The Israeli prime minister's office, which oversees the Mossad intelligence agency, declined to comment on events in Tehran.
"I have agreed that our security forces take this matter seriously, and I have no doubt that revenge for the pure blood of our martyrs will be taken," said Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
