JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo released the departure of the first batch of prospective pilgrims from Central Java. There were 356 prospective pilgrims from Pati, who became the first pilgrims from Central Java to depart for Mecca out of a total of 15,477 pilgrims.

While at the Donohudan Boyolali Hajj Dormitory, Ganjar greeted the prospective pilgrims and congratulated them. While chatting with prospective pilgrims, Ganjar was moved by the heroic story of the prospective pilgrims.

One of them is the story of Siti Indasah, a prospective pilgrim from Pati.

To Ganjar, Siti said that she had wanted to go for Hajj for a long time. She made up her mind by saving money 11 years ago.

"I saved, sir, for 11 years. I sell pecel, sir," said Siti.

She revealed, her income from selling pecel every day is around IDR 100,000. From that income, every day Siti sets aside IDR 10,000 to save for the pilgrimage.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very happy, sir, I am very happy to go for Hajj (can go for Hajj)," said Siti while looking in the mirror.

Ganjar was silent when he heard the story. He prayed for Siti to become a mabrur hajj.

"It's okay, mabrur, ma'am (I pray for mabrur, ma'am)," said Ganjar in his statement, Sunday, June 6.

Ganjar said, Siti's story was very inspiring and touching. Of course, there are many stories from other prospective pilgrims who are no less heroic. Among them are many prospective pilgrims who have never been on a plane.

“There are many interesting stories, for example, a pecel seller who saved IDR 10,000 per day was able to go for Hajj. Of course, this story is both happy and touching. How eager are they to worship? Hopefully, they will become a mabrur hajj," he said.

Ganjar also gave a message to prospective pilgrims to continue to maintain health. Moreover, according to information, in Saudi Arabia it is currently summer.

"Health must be taken care of. It's very hot there, so don't get dehydrated. I ask my companions to keep reminding me," he concluded.

For information, as many as 15,447 prospective pilgrims from Central Java will depart for the holy land this year. They are divided into 43 flying groups. In addition to prospective pilgrims, as many as 172 PPIH officers and 75 regional hajj officers were also dispatched.
