JAKARTA - The Head of Women and Children Protection (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Sri Yatmini emphasized that the perpetrator with the initials MS (19) was a woman who had the heart to throw away a baby that was still alive. According to MS, this is the first time this action has taken place.

MS dumped the baby alive, wrapped in a plastic bag on the bank of the Ciliwung River, Jalan Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

According to Iptu Sri, the incident began when MS felt heartburn. He thought that the heartburn in his stomach was because he wanted to defecate (BAB).

It turned out that MS did not think that the heartburn was the result of the contractions of the fetus she was carrying. It is suspected that the MS pregnancy was due to an extramarital relationship. And reportedly, MS just gave birth for the first time.

Finally, continued Iptu Sri, the perpetrator gave birth alone in the toilet seat in the bathroom.

"The perpetrator went to the bathroom, immediately the person concerned gave birth in the bathroom in the squat toilet. Then the person concerned said he panicked after the baby was born, the umbilical cord was cut (by the perpetrator) himself with scissors," Sri told reporters, Thursday, June 2.

The perpetrators panicked and wrapped the baby girl's body using her negligee and then put it in a black plastic bag.

"The perpetrator left the flat (flat). He continued to take a motorcycle taxi from the base there. Then he asked a motorcycle taxi driver, he said he wanted to go to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM)," said Sri.

On the way, the perpetrator asked the motorcycle taxi drivers to stop around the edge of the Ciliwung River, Jalan Inspeksi Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

It was there that the perpetrator dumped the poor baby girl and then left it alone. This happened on Wednesday, June 1 at around 02.00 WIB.

"On the way to the RSCM, we passed a nearby river, then the perpetrator asked to get off the motorcycle taxi driver for a while to dispose of the baby," he said.

Then, the perpetrator returned to continue his journey with the motorcycle taxi driver to the RSCM, Central Jakarta. Sri said, the perpetrator went to the hospital because he experienced heavy bleeding after giving birth independently without medical treatment.

"The perpetrator went to the RSCM for treatment because the placenta (the placenta) was still left behind, so there was heavy bleeding," he said.

For now, Sri continued, the perpetrator who is a student is still being treated intensively at the RSCM. His condition still hasn't recovered.

Even so, the police are coordinating with the hospital if the perpetrator's condition has improved, then further investigations will be carried out to explore the case of the disposal of the baby.

"But I have communicated with the RSCM, if there is an improvement, we will clarify successively," he said.

Previously, a baby girl was found on the banks of the Ciliwung River, Jalan Inspeksi Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Wednesday, June 1. The discovery was also recorded by amateur cameras by residents.

From the video footage, it can be seen that residents found the baby in a black plastic bag on the edge of the Ciliwung River. The baby's body was still covered in blood.

Witness of the incident, Nasrul said, initially he and his colleagues who were protecting the environment received a report from a fish finder.

"We're gathering at the post, right? It's called night watch, right? The broom fish seeker who usually nets in the river, now he hears a sound like a cat's voice. But he doubts it's a cat," he said.

The fish finder then went up to the mainland to meet the residents who were at the guard post. After that, the location of the source of the sound was found. It turns out that its position is on the banks of the Ciliwung River.

That's where Nasrul and other residents saw a black plastic bag containing a baby girl who was still alive.
