Child Abuse Perpetrators In Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta Often Angry And Upset Because Of Economic Factors

JAKARTA – After being arrested by officers from the Tanjung Duren Police, ESS (40) could only surrender to lament his fate from behind bars at the Tanjung Duren Police because he abused his two underage children. After this case became public, ESS had time to escape. The police and their son, MRI (16) tried to search in various places, but were not found. After several days, ESS was finally found and arrested in Tegal, Central Java, at her parents' house.

According to Wibisono, ESS's acts of violence against children began when the perpetrator was provoked by anger when his two children did not return his calls. The perpetrator became angry and then threw glasses and glass bottles that were in the kitchen of the perpetrator's house.

At first, the perpetrator was locked in a room and then asked his son to go to the shop to buy something by way of debt.

The son, MRI, refused because of embarrassment. The perpetrator was so emotional that he threw glasses and glass bottles in the kitchen. The perpetrator then abused his two children with the initials MRI and MA (14).

"The perpetrator hit the MRI using his right hand which clenched into the forehead once and the left eye temple 2 times and used a paralon pipe to hit the stomach once," said the police chief.

Meanwhile, MA was beaten using his right hand which clenched into his right cheek and stomach, while his right ear, left arm and stomach were hit using a paralon pipe which was held in the perpetrator's right hand.

The suspect also threw shards of glass at the victim's right calf. After cleaning up the broken glass, the perpetrator then went up to the 2nd floor to rest in his room.

As a result of the beating, MRI experienced pain in the head and stomach, while MA suffered a tear on the calf of his right leg, bruised right cheek, red bruises on his stomach. As a result of the incident, the perpetrator's wife reported it to the Tanjung Duren Police, West Jakarta.

After receiving the victim's report, the police immediately arrested the perpetrator. The perpetrator was arrested 4 days after the police received the report. The perpetrator was arrested while hiding at his parents' house in Tegal, Central Java.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 44 of RI Law NO. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence and or Article 80 of RI's Law NO. 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Indonesian Law NO. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection," he concluded.
