JAKARTA - Social media activist Chusnul Chotimah quipped about the incident where the roof of the spectator stands of the Formula E circuit Jakarta International E-Prix Cricuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta collapsed.

According to him, had the electric car racing event been held when Jokowi or Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok led the DKI Jakarta regional government, they would have been completely rejected by a group called Kadrun.

"Fortunately the one who has the Anies gub pious event, try Pak Jokowi, let alone Pak Ahok?" said Chusnul on his Twitter account, @ChusnulCh__, quoted on Sunday 29 May.

Chusnul said Kadrun would strongly criticize the incident of the collapse of the roof of the Ancol JIEC spectator stands if it was held during the Jokowi era or Ahok led DKI, arguing that God was angry that Formula E Jakarta was sponsored by an alcoholic beverage brand.

"Surely Kadrun has shouted, God is angry because he has organized an event sponsored by illicit goods," he continued.

Netizens responded to Chusnul's sentiments. Not a few of them also commented negatively about the Formula E circuit. Many also asked Chusnul to stop his criticism because whether or not the implementation of the international racing event was good or bad it would have an impact on the nation's good name.

"Kadrun asked me to stop criticizing Formula E, let's support it to be successful, don't embarrass the country," he said.

However, Chusnul said otherwise. He assessed that the Jakarta Formula E racing event, which will be held on June 4, was worthy of criticism from the time it was planned until the day before the event.

"Drun, since the beginning of Formula E the budget was unclear, Anies' personal ambition was investigated by the KPK and now it has collapsed because it is not strong enough. Does this deserve support? Is this not embarrassing for the country?" concluded Chusnul.
