There Are No Reports Of Pickpocketing Victims In Pulogadung, The Police Continue To Carry Out Investigations

JAKARTA - The Pulogadung Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation regarding the viral video of pickpocketing in front of the Pulogadung Terminal, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 24.

After the video of the street crime went viral, the police immediately checked the crime scene (TKP). However, until now, the police have not received any reports from victims regarding the theft.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Pulogadung Police, AKP Heru Sugiarti, admitted that there have been no reports of pickpocketing victims whose videos have gone viral on social media so far. Even so, the police are still investigating the perpetrators of the crime.

"We have checked the crime scene (TKP)," he said, Wednesday, May 25.

Heru continued, in order to anticipate repeated crimes, his party will carry out patrols around the Pulogadung Terminal.

"We do surveillance and patrols," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Pulogadung Terminal, Tatang, responded to the viral video of pickpocketing in his area by searching for the perpetrators related to the incident.

"This case is being investigated first, yes, related to the incident report (pickpocketing)," he said.

Tatang also confirmed that the officer controlling the traffic was a Dishub officer from the Pulogadung Terminal.

"That's right, it was our officer who was managing traffic (when it happened). Maybe he didn't see the incident because he focused on controlling traffic," he added.

Previously, it was reported that a video of a pickpocketing action in the Pulogadung Terminal area, East Jakarta, was again viral on Instagram social media.

The perpetrator was caught on amateur video by a local resident carrying out an open pickpocketing action against a motorcyclist passing by at the location.

From the video footage uploaded by one of the social media accounts, the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 24. The pickpocketing of the motorcyclist's belongings was caught on the deskam of a passing car.

Even though there were officers controlling the traffic, the perpetrators relaxed and carried out their actions. Even the action of the perpetrators was carried out when the traffic flow was busy.
