Detachment 88 Seizes Guns And Hundreds Of Ammunition From 24 MIT Terrorist Suspects

JAKARTA - Anti-terror Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested 24 East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) terrorists in three different locations. From the arrest, 10 firearms and hundreds of ammunition were confiscated as evidence.

"(Evidence, ed) One revolver", said The Head of Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, April 17.

There was also evidence in the form of 9 air rifles or PCP (Pre-Charged). The rifle was obtained from the results of a search of the homes of the terrorist suspects.

"The following evidence was found, 8 PCP rifles, as well as silencers and supports, one red and black PCP rifle", he said.

Apart from rifles and air rifles, Densus 88 Anti-terror investigators also confiscated hundreds of ammunition. The details are two M-16 magazines, 244 rounds of 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, 10 special 38 caliber ammunition, and two packs of minis bullets.

There is also one arrow along with six arrows. Then, 22 sharp weapons types of machetes were also confiscated.

"Four Badik (knife) blades, a folding knife, and 26 cell phones. This is evidence that has been confiscated by Densus 88 investigators, this is evidence that was secured from the results of a search at the suspect's house", said Ramadhan.

Previously, Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 24 MIT terrorists in several locations, including, 22 people arrested in Central Sulawesi, 1 person in Bekasi, and 1 more in East Kalimantan. The arrest took place on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
