6 Suspected Of Destruction Of Sukabumi Transportation Agency Retribution Post Arrested By Police

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi Police have named six residents as suspects in the case of vandalizing the Ujunggenteng Tourism Tolget Post owned by the Sukabumi Regency Transportation Service in Ciracap District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"Right on the day of the destruction of the Ujunggenteng Tourism Tolget Post, on Wednesday (11/5) we arrested four residents who were suspected of carrying out the anarchic act. Of the four, one of them claimed to be the perpetrator of the vandalism and three others, one person confessed to just watching, "said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sukabumi Police, AKP I Putu Asti Hermawan, as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 16.

According to Hermawan, from the results of the development and examination of witnesses, his party finally named six residents as suspects in the case of vandalizing the Ujunggenteng Tourism Tolget Post. Of the six suspects, the majority are fishermen.

According to the information from the suspects, the vandalism action was motivated by the disappointment of the residents towards the collection of retribution, because of the many tourists who visited, a lot of them left garbage.

According to the agreement, the results of the levy could be set aside for the community to clean up the beach tourism object in the south of Sukabumi Regency.

However, residents who have worked hard to clean up the tourist attraction that is included in the Unesco Global Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu area have not received anything from the levy, so the frustration of some residents peaked.

Initially, the action of disappointment was only throwing garbage at the tollgate post, but it was provoked by one of the residents (the suspect) who threw a helmet at the post, triggering other elements to do damage.

The anarchic action was also recorded and uploaded to social media which eventually went viral. Based on the report and evidence, Sukabumi Police personnel immediately went to the location and arrested several people suspected of doing the vandalism.

According to Hermawan, of the many that were examined, his party finally named six suspects with the initials G, AJ, D, RA, RH and H who carried out the vandalism. In this case, his party is still developing and does not rule out other suspects if other evidence is found.

"As a result of his anarchic action, six suspects were threatened with imprisonment behind bars for seven years in accordance with Article 170 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning violence in public, both to people and goods," he said.

Hermawan added that apart from arresting the six suspects, his party also made a video recording, wood and stone as evidence that was used to destroy the post.
