BANDARLAMPUNG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bandar Lampung City has optimized clean water tanks located in several areas in the face of the dry season.

"In order to deal with the dry season, we have prepared 20 water tanks spread across a number of areas to help residents who are experiencing drought," said the Head of Emergency and Disaster Division of BPBD Bandar Lampung City, Sutarno in Bandar Lampung, Friday, May 13.

According to him, based on coordination with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the dry season will hit a number of areas including Bandar Lampung in mid-May 2022.

"On this basis, apart from maximizing the existing 50 cubic meter water reservoirs, we will also optimize our drilled wells in a number of sub-districts," he said, quoted by Antara.

He mentioned that in BPBD records in Bandarlampung City, there are four sub-districts that when the dry season enters, will experience drought and find it difficult to get water.

"The four sub-districts are Sukabumi, Kedamaian, Kedaton and Labuhan Ratu," he said.

However, his party will really step down to help areas that are dry if there is a request from one Neighbourhood/Community Association.

"So we don't serve individuals, so we hope that they will be in groups and the local civil servants will contact us and submit their requests, so we will bring in a water tank with a capacity of 5,000 liters to meet the needs of the community," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of BMKG Data and Information, Raden Intan II, Rudi Harianto, said that his party estimates that the scorching hot weather that has occurred for some time will continue for the next week.

"The results of BMKG monitoring show that the phenomenon of scorching heat will still occur for the next week, and the Lampung area has also entered the dry season," he said.
