Responding To Democrats Opening Coalition Space, Golkar: No Decision Yet

JAKARTA - Golkar Party politician Dave Akbarshah Fikarno or Dave Laksono, said his party is still carrying out mapping and internal discussions regarding the formation of a coalition to face the 2024 Simultaneous Election.

The member of the DPR from the Golkar faction said that until now there has been no decision regarding the coalition that the banyan party will form.

"(Golkar Party) has not decided anything yet," said Dave Laksono to reporters, Wednesday, May 11.

Responding to the meeting between the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and the Chairperson of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Dave considered it reasonable. Moreover, he said, the relationship was still in the Eid atmosphere.

"The meeting was a friendship after Eid, just to have a good relationship," he said.

However, according to Dave, the interpretation of the coalition after the meeting is normal. However, Dave once again emphasized that there has been no discussion regarding the coalition with any party, including the Democrats.

Dave said, the Golkar Party still opens the door for discussions and coalitions with any political party.

"There hasn't been any discussion leading up to it. Golkar is still open for discussion and for communication with all," he concluded.

Previously, the Democrat Party claimed to open up space for a coalition with any party in the upcoming 2024 election, including the Golkar Party.

The Deputy of Bappilu for the Democratic Party of the Republic of Indonesia, Kamhar Lakumani, said that his party had never had any problems with the banyan party.

"The Democratic Party has no problems and burdens to cooperate with any party, especially with the Golkar Party, which already has a track record of good cooperation with the Democratic Party," Kamhar told reporters, Wednesday, May 11.
