Jakarta Food Prices After Lebaran Still Expensive, DPRD Will Call DKI Provincial Government

JAKARTA - Head of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, said that his party would summon the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to ask for an explanation regarding the availability and prices of food in Jakarta at this time.

The summons to the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Marine Fisheries Food Security Service (DKPKP), PD Pasar Jaya, Food Station, and PD Dharma Jaya are related to the high price of food even though Lebaran is over.

"If something like this happens, we will call to confirm what the problem is," said Ismail to reporters, Wednesday, April 11.

Ismail said that his party had actually coordinated with the DKI Provincial Government to BUMD for food ahead of the month of Ramadan and carried out direct monitoring of the markets.

This is done to ensure stability in food prices, even though prices are still increasing.

"Indeed, there are some prices whose fluctuations are quite dynamic, such as chili. Red chili is curly because of many factors, yes," said Ismail.

"If there was information that prices had soared, then we will need to check again in the field, yes. Because based on reports from our work meetings and visits, this has not happened," he added.

Based on information from the official website infopangan.jakarta.go.id as of today, a number of food commodities experienced an increase in prices, including IR I rice IDR 148 per kilogram, and setra I/premium rice IDR 12,239 per kilogram.

Furthermore, curly red chilies are IDR 46,212 kilograms, green chilies are IDR 43,326 per kilogram, broiler chicken/race is IDR 41,111 per head, beef has (hamstrings) IDR 153,666 per kiloram, and pure beef (stews) is IDR 149. 456 per kiloram, and goat meat IDR 140,961 per kiloram.
