TERNATE - Ternate Police, North Maluku (Malut) asked the public not to celebrate takbiran on main city streets to avoid congestion.
Ternate Police Chief AKBP Andik Purnomo Sigit said the Ternate Police had coordinated with the Islamic Holidays Committee (PHB) to ask the public, especially young people, not to march which would cause traffic jams.
He hopes that people will carry out takbiran at nearby mosques. If there are still people celebrating on the main road, the officers will direct them to special lanes to avoid traffic jams.
