Train Stations In Jakarta Depart 35,100 Homecoming, Mostly From Pasar Senen Station

JAKARTA - The Train Station (KA) in Jakarta will dispatch 35,100 travelers to various destinations on April 30, 2022 or D-2 Lebaran 1443 Hijriah.

Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa said the number consisted of 16,300 travelers who departed from Gambir Station and 18,800 travelers who departed from Pasar Senen Station.

"Today, the volume of passengers departing from Gambir Station is 16,300. Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen Station, the volume of departing passengers is 18,800," he said.

A total of 16,300 passengers departing from Gambir Station is 97 percent of the total 16,900 available seats.

Meanwhile, the 18,800 passengers who departed from Pasar Senen Station constituted 91 percent of the total 20,500 seats provided.

According to Eva, the data shows only passengers departing from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen. If it is added with passengers who also board from Bekasi, Karawang, Cikarang, Cikampek, and Jakarta Kota, then the overall volume of passenger departures from trains departing from Daop 1 have all been filled for available seats.

Eva explained that the peak of the homecoming flow had occurred from April 27, 2022 to May 1, 2022, where the occupancy on those dates was 100 percent filled.

The departure dates that are most chosen by the public, he said, are 27, 28, 29, 30 April and 1 May, with the majority of passengers going to Yogyakarta, Solo Kutoarjo, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Cirebon and Bandung.

KAI has set the Eid transportation period from D-10 to D+10 Lebaran or April 22 to May 13, 2022, with a total number of seats provided for 792,700 units.

In that period, from Daop 1 Jakarta area, long-distance train trips are programmed to have 61 train trips per day.

"The average seating capacity is 36,000 per day, 16,000 Gambir Station and 19,900 Pasar Senen. According to government regulations, the capacity set for long-distance trains is 100 percent," he said.
