BPOM Monitors 276 Takjil Food Sellers In East Nusa Tenggara

JAKARTA - The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) Kupang supervised 276 sellers of iftar or takjil food in three districts in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The three regencies/cities are in Kupang City, Belu, and also in North Central Timor (TTU) Regency", said Head of BPOM Kupang, Tamran Ismail, in Kupang on Tuesday, April 26, quoted from Antara.

Of the 276 takjil sellers who were supervised, all of them met the requirements, and no harmful ingredients or substances were found in the fast food.

"So there are four things that we see when we monitor takjil food, including formalin, borax, methanol yellow, and rhodamine B, and these four substances are not found in the fast-breaking snacks sold in the three areas", he said.

This, he said, shows that people are already concerned about the health of other people so that what is sold is clean and not harmful to the people who consume it.

Tamran added that for the Kupang City area, his party carried out inspections at the location in front of Bank Mandiri Kupang, then at Air Mata, and several other locations.

He added that the monitoring process had been carried out starting from the fasting month in early April which was carried out to ensure that everything was safe for consumption.

He added that the POM Agency is committed to always overseeing food and nutrition safety to improve the quality of life and protect public health, especially during the month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
