Carry Out Inspections, Jakarta Transportation Agency Ensures Feasibility Of Eid Transportation Facilities

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency confirms the feasibility of this year's Eid transportation facility, especially for land transportation modes such as buses, through several safety inspections (ramp checks) to ensure the comfort and safety of travelers, both for homecoming and returning.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 26, said that his party had carried out a safety inspection (ramp check) on buses at several terminals before they were used for homecoming traffic.

"We have carried out inspections from April five so that operators have time to make improvements or perfection of the condition of the buses, including the driver", Syafrin said as quoted by Antara.

Syafrin added that buses that pass the inspection will later get a sticker that shows they are suitable for use as Eid transportation.

"All buses departing from the terminal must meet roadworthy technical requirements as evidenced by a 'ramp check' sticker", said Syafrin.

However, Syafrin did not deny that there were buses that were declared unfit for the road.

He did not specify the number of the bus fleet that was not roadworthy.

"If the bus has not been affixed with a 'ramp check' sticker, we will automatically re-examine the bus. If it does not meet the roadworthiness requirements, it will be returned to the pool", said Syafrin.
