GORONTALO - Hundreds of passengers who will use the sea transportation service KM Tilongkabila for going home, began to crowd the Port of Gorontalo in Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province.

General Manager of PT Pelindo IV Gorontalo, Teddy Indra Yudhana said, the peak of the homecoming flow at the port is expected to occur today.

According to him, the current homecoming flow has recovered as before the COVID-19 pandemic and is even predicted to increase by 20 percent compared to 2019.

"The command post here has been started since April 18 and it is estimated that the peak of going home will occur today with the Tilongkabila ship," said Teddy as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 25.

He explained that the number of homecomers departing today is estimated at 800 people who use the Tilongkabila ship.

Until Eid al-Fitr, said Teddy, there are still pioneer ships operating but the capacity is only 100-200 passengers.

"The Tilongkabila ship serves Luwuk, Kendari, Bau-bau routes and so on," he said.

Every passenger at the port is required to show a travel document, using the Peduli Protect application and a COVID-19 vaccine card.

Meanwhile, one of the passengers on the Tilongkabila ship, Jamil Massa, admitted that he left today to avoid the accumulation of passengers.

"If there are too many, it will be uncomfortable, especially if I bring my children, wife and parents," he continued.
