Governor Ridwan Kamil Hands Over 502 Waqf Land Certificates, Majority For Mosques, Graveyards And Islamic Boarding Schools

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil handed over 502 waqf land certificates to people spread across regencies/cities in West Java. The certified waqf land is mostly used for mosques, burial grounds, Islamic boarding schools and access to worship for Muslims. The governor handed over the waqf land certificates together with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin who handed over 3,152 akaf land certificates for all of Indonesia. "Today, the symbolic handover by the Vice President, continued by us in the regions so that all non-private land assets of a general nature originating from this waqf have certificates," said Ridwan Kamil in Bandung City, Antara, Monday, April 25. The people who received the most waqf land certificates were in Subang Regency with 176 certificates, Tasikmalaya Regency (117 certificates) Sukabumi Regency (33 certificates), Bekasi City (26 certificates), Depok City and Karawang Regency each with 18 certificates, and the rest in other areas. Ridwan Kamil appreciated the performance of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency of the West Java Regional Office which in less than a year succeeded in issuing 1,500 land certificates. Governor Ridwan Kamil hopes there will be an acceleration because there are still 100 thousand lands that have not been certified in West Java. "West Java alone has 1,500 certificates issued as of April. Please continue to increase it because there are still more than 100 thousand uncertified," said the Governor. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that the government is committed to providing legal certainty over land rights throughout Indonesia, namely by registering and certifying community lands without exception. In this case, the government is also accelerating the certification of waqf land for mosques, graveyards, Islamic boarding schools and access to worship for Muslims. The waqf land certification program helps communities obtain their property rights, and reduces horizontal conflicts in the community. "Certification of waqf land is a guide for elements of implementation in the field, then certification and improvement of the competence of nadzir (wealth managers). Socialization related to education on waqf land and the importance of land legality aspects for protection as well as optimizing the benefits of waqf aspects must be carried out in a sustainable manner. in legal matters," he said. The Vice President emphasized that the designation of waqf land is not limited to Muslim worship activities but can be optimized to improve social welfare and encourage national economic growth in general.
