The Latest Atmosphere Of The DPR Building Ahead Of The April 21 Demo, The Mass Of Action Hasn't Been Seen Because It's Overcast And Drizzling

JAKARTA - The area in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building is still quiet. Not a single mass was seen. There are only police officers on guard inside the building area, while the entrance gate is still wide open and guarded by internal security (Pamdal). Cloudy weather and light drizzle still blanketed the Parliament Complex. Originally, the demonstration of the People's Labor Movement (GEBRAK) and the Indonesian Student Alliance (AMI) on April 21 was held from 10:00 to 17:00 WIB. The masses of action joined in the People's Congress consisted of various delegates, which included the movement of workers, farmers, students, students, women and the urban poor, and other communities. They will stage a demonstration by bringing several demands related to economic inequality and the rule of law policies that are detrimental to the people. The following are the demands of the mass protest on April 21 at the DPR Building:

1. Stop discussing the unconstitutional job creation law and stop efforts to revise the law for the formation of the statutory regulations.

2. Stop criminalizing the people's movement and solve human rights violations.

3. Lower prices (fuel, cooking oil, PDAM, electricity, fertilizer, VAT and toll roads).

4. Arrest, prosecute, imprison, and impoverish all corrupt perpetrators.

5. Redistribution of national wealth (providing social security for education, health, housing, public facilities, and free food for the community).

6. Pass the Domestic Work Law and provide protection for migrant workers.

7. Realize true agrarian reform and stop the deprivation of agrarian resources

8. Reject the postponement of the election and the extension of the term of office of the president.

9. Provide access to the widest possible public participation in the planned revision of the National Education System Law.

10. Reject the revision of Law Number 21 of 2000 concerning Trade Unions.
