SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government has prepared 118 free homecoming buses for Eid 2022 for migrants from Central Java who work in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.

"This free homecoming will be held simultaneously on April 28, 2022 or D-5 Lebaran with the departure location at the Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum, TMII East Jakarta," said Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo in Semarang as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Ganjar explained that this year's free homecoming for Eid was opened with a limited quota and the Central Java Provincial Government was also trying to provide accommodation for travelers who wanted to return overseas.

"Maybe it's not as much as last year, the last meeting there were 118 buses. After the President's decision to go home, we are now a bit serious. This will be a marathon meeting, ideally we can also return later," he said.

Ganjar said the hundreds of buses for free homecoming were donations from the Central Java Bank and a number of district/city governments.

"Opportunities for travelers outside Java are also being discussed, there are suggestions from Palembang, Bandung, Medan also wanting to go home, so later we will look for other ways to bring them. Is it 'sponsorship' from the company or something else," he said.

Registration for free homecoming is open online starting April 13, 2022 and the public can register by accessing and filling out the link https://bit.ly/mudikgratisbantuangubjateng2022.

"Let's register immediately, because the quota is limited. For more information, please call 021-7395238," said Ganjar.
